Honoring and congratulating the Educator of the Month, William W. Sax, for his dedication to his students at South Philadelphia High School. WHEREAS, William W. Sax is a dedicated educator currently teaching at South Philadelphia High School and serving as the building's union representative; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sax graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with three bachelor's degrees in African-American Studies, Social Studies, and Secondary Education, as well as a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, completing his undergraduate studies in three years and his graduate degree in just one year while also participating in football, wrestling, and track; and WHEREAS, Demonstrating his passion for education and African-American history, Mr. Sax created the only African American museum inside a Philadelphia school district building, paying thousands out of his own pocket to establish this unique educational resource at South Philadelphia High School; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sax has organized and funded numerous events, guest speakers, performers, and learning opportunities during Black History Month celebrations from 2020 to 2024 to enrich students' educational experiences; and WHEREAS, Understanding the value of enriching field trips, Mr. Sax has taken over 5,000 students on educational adventures to Washington D.C., New York City, and other destinations; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sax's unwavering commitment to his students, his profession, and celebrating the achievements of African …
