Proclaiming May 2024 as Dual Asian American Pacific Islander and Jewish American Heritage Month in Philadelphia to pay tribute to the rich history and significant contributions made by generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and Jewish Americans to our Country, Commonwealth, and City. WHEREAS, The C ity of Philadelphia is known for being the birthplace of the United States, where our Founding Fathers met, discussed, debated and formed a new country. It is the City where the country's two most important documents the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written and ratified . It is the city known for Brotherly love and Sisterly affection ; and WHEREAS, AAPI and Jewish Americans have made significant contributions to the arts, entertainment, science and technology, government, business, culinary traditions, and other fields in the United States, and have played an important role in shaping America ; and WHEREAS, Jewish and AAPI immigrants have greatly contributed to the social, cultural, economic, and political fabric of America ever their first arrival to the United States; and WHEREAS, We call attention to a special event taking place on May 5th sponsored jointly by the Pennsylvania Asian Pacific American Jewish Alliance (PAPAJA), American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History to commemorate the occasion which will be a dual Heritage Day full of multicultural performances, crafts, dancing and games for…
