Recognizing the month of August 2024 as "Public Safety Awareness Month" in the City of Philadelphia

Recognizing the month of August 2024 as “Public Safety Awareness Month” in the City of Philadelphia WHEREAS, Ensuring the safety and security of all Philadelphia residents is a top priority for the City and the respective communities; and WHEREAS, Raising awareness about public safety best practices and available resources can empower citizens to take an active role in keeping their neighborhoods secure; and WHEREAS, Collaborative efforts between law enforcement, government agencies, community organizations, and residents are crucial for promoting a culture of public safety in Philadelphia; and WHEREAS, The Town Watch Integrated Services promotes safety and supports quality of life through community policing and other neighborhood programs; and WHEREAS, Designating a month to highlight public safety initiatives will provide additional opportunities for educational campaigns, community events, and strengthening partnerships aimed at enhancing the well-being of all Philadelphians; and WHEREAS, The Council recognizes the importance of public safety and shows our appreciation for their contributions of those who work to keep Philadelphia safe; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the month of August 2024 be recognized as “Public Safety Awareness Month” in the City of Philadelphia.
