Recognizing Clotilde Jiménez for his representation of the City Of Philadelphia on the global stage as a commissioned artist for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. WHEREAS, Clotilde Jiménez was born in Philadelphia and grew up to become a world-renowned artist who had the privilege and honor of being commissioned to design posters for the Paris Olympic Games and Paralympic Games respectively. Clotilde is a multi-disciplinary American artist who works with ceramics, collage, painting, printmaking, and sculpture; and WHEREAS, Clotilde Jiménez committed to a life as an artist when he was a teenager living in Philadelphia, the first major step in his career was when he enrolled at Charter High School for Architecture and Design (CHAD), a school that granted opportunities for at-risk children with creative ambitions; and WHEREAS, As a student at CHAD he was given tools to refine his craft and develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the arts and his personal education. After graduating from CHAD, Jiménez continued to further his artistic education, receiving a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Printmaking from the Cleveland Art Institute in 2013 and a Master’s in Fine Arts from the Slade School of Fine Art in London in 2018; and WHEREAS, Jiménez’s style is a product of his personal ingenuity and determination; he began to create collages and explore new mediums out of necessity.
