Honoring and congratulating Jenaye Munford for nearly twenty years of dedicated, innovative, and transformative service to the City of Philadelphia and City Council. WHEREAS, Jenaye Munford is a proud daughter of Northwest Philadelphia, hailing from the Mt. Airy neighborhood, 19150, where she continues to reside and raise her greatest joy, her daughter, Journey. A proud product of the School District of Philadelphia, Jenaye is a graduate of Central High School, Class 256. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Arcadia University and her master’s degree from Drexel University; and WHEREAS, Jenaye began her long and dedicated career in public service during the administration of Mayor John F. Street, serving as a trusted Special Assistant to the Mayor. In that role, she worked on pivotal initiatives that improved the lives of countless residents and strengthened the institutions that make Philadelphia great; and WHEREAS, Following her time in the Street Administration, Jenaye continued her public service in both the private sector and the federal government, addressing some of our nation’s most critical issues from affordable housing to the U.S. Census. Her work consistently ensured that every voice was heard and that equity was not just a conversation, but an actionable commitment.
