Recognizing the week of April 5th to 11th, 2025, as “Week of the Young Child” in Philadelphia in support of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and commending the work of NAEYC for promoting high quality educational and developmental services for children under 8 years of age. WHEREAS, During the week of April 5th through 11th, 2025 the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is celebrating “Week of the Young Child”; and WHEREAS, NAEYC is dedicated to improving early learning for children through age 8, a crucial period for growth and development for young children. This organization advocates for the rights and well-being of children, focusing on researching early-education policy and ensuring practices reflect latest evidence; and WHEREAS, NAEYC celebrates “Week of the Young Child” to highlight early learning, children under 8, and their teachers and families. The purpose of this annual celebration is to bring attention to early childhood programs and services which can meet the demographic’s needs; and WHEREAS, “Week of the Young Children” was established initially in 1971 to recognize children under 8 years of age and the importance of laying the foundation for a successful upbringing; and WHEREAS, NAEYC’s advocacy is vital in emphasizing to the public how all families and young children deserve access to high-quality care and education, even at young ages.
